Meet Rick

Take Me Out Pets is a locally owned pet care business based in Conimicut, Warwick. Richard “Rick” Salk provides personal support for owners balancing everyday commitments with the needs of their pets.

Rick’s background includes service in the U.S. Coast Guard, a career with the postal service, and volunteering at Warwick Animal Shelter. Working with shelter dogs helped build the patient, practical approach he brings to walks and outdoor visits.

Rick also cares for cats, taking a gentle approach with those who need time to become comfortable. He focuses on understanding the animal, listening to the owner, and respecting the home he is welcomed into.

Thoughtful Care Starts With Listening

Respect Their Personality

Confidence, energy, and curiosity vary from pet to pet. We pay attention to those differences and approach each animal with patience.

Follow Their Familiar Routine

The way a household works matters. Clear notes about meals, rest, and exercise help us support the habits you have already established.

Keep Communication Open

Good care starts with a conversation. We welcome questions and discuss expectations so you can explain what matters most to you and your pet.

Getting to Know Your Pet Comes First

Before a visit, we want to understand how your pet spends the day and what helps them feel comfortable. Sharing the details below gives us a useful starting point for discussing care that suits your household.

Personality & Preferences

Let us know about favorite toys, reactions to unfamiliar people or other animals, and the kind of attention your pet enjoys.

Energy & Mobility

A playful puppy and a slower senior can need different support. Tell us about their usual activity level, walking pace, and any mobility limitations.

Meals & Care Instructions

Share feeding times, portions, special diets, and any medication instructions before booking so we can discuss the help your pet requires.

Access & Communication

Explain how to enter your home, where supplies are kept, and how you prefer to hear from us. We provide photos and visit updates while you are away.

Let’s Start With a Conversation

Tell us about your pet and the support you need. We serve Warwick and nearby communities, including West Warwick, Cranston, and East Greenwich.
